Chung-Ang University (CAU) in South Korea has signed a cooperation agreement with several Hungarian higher education institutions to offer scholarships to five Hungarian students studying and researching in the field of artificial intelligence.
László György, Secretary of State for Innovation and Higher Education at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, recalled that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and then South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed a cooperation agreement last autumn to establish a South Korean campus in Hungary.

Initially a training program will be launched jointly with Chung-Ang University, for which the South Korean university has offered five doctoral courses in artificial intelligence to Hungarian universities, he said. The Hungarian government official has informed that CAU is among the ten universities in South Korea whose artificial intelligence courses are supported by the South Korean government. Founded in 1916, the university has about 32,000 students and its R&D revenues exceeded HUF 70 billion (EUR 171 million) this year.
The documents were signed by Secretary of State László György, the President of Chung-Ang University Sang-Gue Park, and the representatives of Hungarian universities: Eötvös Loránd University, the University of Miskolc, Óbuda University, Semmelweis University, the University of Szeged, and Széchenyi István University.
