The Tálas Áron Trio at the 2nd Matyó World Meeting in Zsóry Liget, Mezőkövesd

On 26 August, visitors to Hollán Ernő Street in Budapest’s 13th District will be treated to an extraordinary musical program – reports Turizmus.com.

The Budapest Jazz Club will be debunking the myth that jazz is a subgenre, replacing the velvet curtain and smoky twilight with the hustle and bustle of one of Budapest’s most popular pedestrian streets.

The Jazz Jam Marathon, realized by Budapest Tuning’s brainstorming competition, aims to showcase how lovable and people-friendly jazz music is.

Fact

Budapest Tuning is an urban community movement organized by Budapest Brand the Zrt. and the Municipality of Budapest. It launches a call for ideas for cultural programs, artistic productions and experimental urban projects offering a unique experience.

The word “jam” in the name of the event refers to one of the most authentic elements of the genre, the jam session, which is its defining characteristic. A core group (typically a trio or quartet) plays for the audience in a jam.

The jam stage will feature a performance by the Attila Rieger Trio.

The Tálas Áron Trio, the Symphony Nagy Noémi Quartet, the Szalay Gábor Trio, and the Hász Eszter Quartet will also take the stage.

The free program starts at 3 PM and you can find out more about the event here.
