Hungaricum Exhibition Center Opens in Lakitelek

A center showcasing the food and cultural heritage unique to Hungary opened at the Lakitelek Folk School in central Hungary on Saturday.

Agriculture Minister István Nagy said the Hungaricum Exhibition House could contribute to the education of generations with a unified national identity.

A meeting of the Hungaricum Committee on Saturday added decorative cross stitch from the Upper Tisza region to the list of Hungaricums, bringing the total number to 83, he said.

The “extraordinary national value” list was expanded to include the ELTE Botanical Garden, the tradition of apple growing in Szabolcs, the Szekler Anthem, and the traditional folk dress of Hetes.
