Foreign Minister: Hungary Rescues Staff, Foreign Diplomats from Kyiv

MTI-Hungary Today 2022.03.03.

The Hungarian government has successfully helped 32 people, including ten South African and ten Nigerian diplomats leave Kyiv in its second such operation, the foreign minister said on Thursday.

The foreign ministry quoted Péter Szijjártó as saying that a part of the staff at the Hungarian embassy, three Hungarian civilians, and the foreign diplomats had left Kyiv in 11 cars on Tuesday. The convoy reached Záhony crossing station and entered Hungary late on Tuesday, the minister said.

“Unfortunately, the situation is gradually worsening, especially in Kyiv… but now everybody is safe,” Szijjártó said.
