Superstars Confirmed for the 2024 Sziget Music Festival

Sziget Festival has added new stars to the mix, writes Magyar Nemzet. Among the almost fifty artists announced are Liam Gallagher, one of the most diverse and successful artists of his generation; Halsey, who is also promising to release a new album this year; eight-time Grammy winner Skrillex; one of the most prominent pop’n’soul singers of the 21st century Janelle Monáe; Raye, who made a stunning splash at this year’s Brit Awards, and Spotify billionaire Tom Odell.

“Liam Gallagher, former lead singer of Oasis, will perform the band’s 30th anniversary debut album Definitely Maybe, the most important album of the 1990s, as part of a special tour to mark the anniversary,” the festival’s press release quoted Tamás Kádár, the festival’s chief organizer.

This year’s Sziget Festival will take place between August 7 and 12.

Among the headliners announced on Wednesday is American singer Halsey, who has won three Billboard Music Awards, an American Music Award, and has been nominated for three Grammys. The superstar is set to release a new album this year.

Skrillex, one of electronic music’s most popular acts, will also perform on the main stage. The American producer, singer-songwriter has recently worked with artists such as Fred Again and Four Tet. Skrillex and Fred Again will follow each other on stage on the closing day of Sziget, after which Four Tet will perform on the Revolut Stage.

Janelle Monáe, also from the U.S., will perform at this year’s festival. Today’s pop’n’soul sensation released her latest album last year, The Age of Pleasure, and was nominated in two categories at this year’s Grammys, making it the tenth time she has been nominated for the most prestigious music award.

Her first book, The Memory Librarian: And Other Stories of Dirty Computer, published in 2022, debuted on the New York Times bestseller list and has been featured in several films.

The British singer-songwriter Raye will also be a main stage performer. She made history at this year’s BRIT Awards, breaking the record for the number of nominations collected by one artist in a single year. She has won six of the seven nominations, surpassing Adele, Harry Styles, and Blur.

Tom Odell is also coming to Sziget. The British singer-songwriter’s Another Love already has around 2.3 billion plays on Spotify.

Also taking to the main stage will be LANY, the Los Angeles rock band who have filled arenas and won widespread critical acclaim, and Yves Tumor, known for their experimental avant-garde style of music that combines rock, electronica, and psychedelic music.

In addition to the main stage, the current announcement of Sziget also includes performers from the Revolut Stage, the Bolt Party Arena, and the Colosseum.

Performers will include Marc Rebillet, Anfisa Letyago, Apashe, Archie Hamilton, Ari Abdul, Charlie Sparks, Colyn, Dyen, the Editors, Enrico Sangiuliano, Franc Moody, Goldband, Job Jobse, Kevin de Vries, KI/KI, Kiasmos, Len Faki, Loco Dice, LP Giobbi, Modeselektor, NEIL FRANCES, Nico Moreno, N’to, Sam Paganini, Sarah Story, Sven Väth, Teezo Touchdown, Tinlicker, Tkay Maidza, and Venerus.

The organizers have already announced that Fred Again, Sam Smith, Stormzy, Martin Garrix, Louis Tomlinson, and Big Thief will be among the acts performing at this year’s event.
