Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Now Accepting Applications

The Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship is now accepting applications for higher education studies in Hungary starting in the academic year 2022–23.

The Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship provides support to those living in the Hungarian diaspora who wish to study at a Hungarian higher education institution.

Fact

The Hungarian government established the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship in 2020. The program is open to young people living in the Hungarian diaspora outside of Europe, who can participate in 1,300 Hungarian and English-language courses at nearly 30 higher education institutions.

The scholarship is available for both full-time studies leading to a degree and non-degree studies including one- or two-semester-long exchange studies.

The scholarship covers tuition-free education at the available higher education institutions, medical insurance, and upon request, a monthly stipend, accommodation contribution, and travel allowance. The program is available for the members of a Hungarian diaspora living in any country outside of the European Union, the Republic of Serbia, or the Zakarpattia Oblast of Ukraine.

Applications need to be submitted for the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship online by January 31, 2022.
