Six Idyllic Cabins to Retreat to This Autumn

Hungary Today 2023.09.20.

One of the most prominent architectural trends of recent years is the craze for designer cabins. On social networking sites, in books, we find millions of photos of tiny buildings hiding in woods, fields, and by the water, which with their simplicity and homely appearance, seduce city dwellers who want to relax.

As Magyar Nemzet reports, a 21st century cabin is not a dusty holiday home, but a combination of high quality craftsmanship and the coolest designs. Here are six of them that definitely catches the eye of a travel lover:

Aislamiento

A tiny jewel in the Zala hills (western Hungary), this two-person, adults-only cabin with unrivaled panoramic views is a great place for an autumn break. The two-story building is located on a 2200 m² sloping site.

The designers tastefully combined styles in the house: industrial with boho, rustic with tropical.

In the spa, travelers can refresh themselves in a wooden hot tub that is nearly 50 years old, while those a bit braver can enjoy the starry sky in a hand-knotted lounging net built into the terrace. Of course, the mini-wellness in the basement of the house cannot be missed, with a Finnish sauna and a relaxation room. A bonus point is that the accommodation comes with e-bikes, making it even easier to explore the beauties of Zala county.

Kabinka Mátra

This heart-warming cabin is located in Mátrakeresztes, northern Hungary. The idyllic surroundings of this pet-friendly accommodation aims to show the way to slow down.

The cabin is set out to bring the high-end quality of a Budapest’s airbnb accommodation to the forest.

This hideaway, reminiscent of a tiny gingerbread house, is a quality and private alternative to a wellness hotel.

Naphegy Guesthouse

This fantastic guesthouse is tucked away in Zebegény in northern Hungray, one of the most captivating villages in the Danube Bend, among the woods of the Danube-Ipoly National Park.

The special atmosphere of the house is due to the unique design of the landscape and the harmonious use of natural materials.

The unique Southeast Asian furniture evokes the colors, simplicity, and harmony of Indonesia and Thailand. The jewel of the cabin is the beautiful hand-painted carved Indonesian teak door and the bathroom.

Noszvaj 981

The village of Noszvaj is located in Heves County in northern Hungary, at the southern entrance to the Bükk National Park.

Right at the entrance to the forest, you will find this romantic English country guest house.

The small cottage has the feel of the set in the romantic movie The Holiday: the main room functions as living room, dining room, and bedroom, with beautiful, stylish accessories and furniture, a bath, and a kitchen with handmade wooden furniture.

Sziklák (Rocks)

The cozy guesthouse offers a totally different view as it was built near Lake Balaton. The cabins were inspired by the shapes of the rocks, so that the visitor can feel even more connected to nature during their stay.

The use of wood in the cabins suggests naturalness, reminiscent of the materials always present in traditional architecture.

The cabins include a living room with a bed, kitchen furniture, built-in wardrobe and dining table, and a bathroom with a double shower and panoramic infrared sauna. To create a spa atmosphere, a large hot tub sunken into the covered terrace is separated from the sauna by a glass window with direct access to the shower.
