PM Orbán Congratulates New Bulgarian PM

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent a letter of congratulation to Kiril Petkov, the newly elected prime minister of Bulgaria.

“Hungary and Bulgaria share a historical friendship, common cultural heritage, and successful economic co-operation. I am pleased to see our bilateral relations developing smoothly in recent years, and I look forward to further deepening them for our mutual benefit,” Orbán said in the letter.

“We must pay particular attention to tackling challenges Europe is facing which includes stopping migration, endorsing stability in the Western Balkans, and supporting the EU integration of the region’s countries,” he said.

“I am convinced that a cooperation of strong nation states and allies with a common interest in enhancing their competitiveness is key to Europe’s success,” the prime minister said.
