World-famous opera singer José Cura will also perform at this year’s Pécs Music Harvest, it was announced at the festival’s press conference on Wednesday.
This year, the twelfth edition of the Zeneszünet festival will take place in Pécs, in southern Hungary, between September 8-11, with the main aim of bringing classical music out of the concert halls and as close as possible to the people.
At Wednesday’s press conference, the organizers said that José Cura, one of the greatest tenors of our time, will perform in Pécs for the first time. The Argentinean artist will perform with the National Philharmonic Orchestra on September 8 at the Kodály Center, performing Latin love songs and excerpts from his famous operatic roles.
Special events will take place during the festival. There will be flash mobs and concerts in the streets, squares, and even playgrounds of Pécs. Many well-known musicians will give concerts, and even a jazz festival will be held in the city center. Many programs are also planned especially for families.
Most of the events of the Music Harvest are free of charge. For more details about the event and ticket information for ticketed events, please visit the website zeneszuret.hu, which is also available in English.
