Among others, Lizz Wright, Avishai Cohen, Stanley Clarke, Simon Phillips, Stacey Kent, Stefano Bollani, Anouar Brahem, Bugge Wesseltoft, Enzo Favata, and Paal Nilssen-Love will take to the stage at Jazzfest Budapest, the organizers told Hungarian news agency MTI.

The line-up will also feature some of the genre’s top Hungarian artists, including László Dés, Mihály Dresch, Kálmán Oláh, Viktor Tóth, Kálmán Balogh, János Yancha Nagy, and Luca Kézdy.

During the 22 days of the festival, there will be concerts at the Erkel Theatre, the Italian Institute, the Liszt Academy, the Eiffel Workshop House, the Fonó, and smaller venues such as Mixát, Lumen, iF, and Jedermann. On April 30, on the occasion of International Jazz Day, jazz will play all day long on Madách Square, with a concert by an occasional all-star band to close the evening.

On the opening day, Lizz Wright will perform at the Eiffel Workshop House. The 43-year-old American singer-songwriter, who is making her third appearance in Budapest, is able to synthesize different styles from R&B, to gospel and jazz while retaining her own individuality and style, the organizers wrote.
