165 patients died of Covid over the past 24 hours, while 5,325 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.
The number of active infections has risen to 106,594, while hospitals are treating 5,811 Covid patients, 545 of whom need respiratory assistance.
Since the first outbreak, the number of fatalities has risen to 32,336, while 966,167 infections have been registered. Fully 827,237 people have made a recovery.
So far 6,003,414 people have received a first jab, while 5,777,331 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 1,629,000 Hungarians have received a booster jab.
There are 41,353 people in official quarantine, while 7,876,457 tests have been officially carried out.
The government announced last week that employers were being given the right to require vaccination against Covid-19 as a precondition of employment in order to ensure workers’ safety. The state, as an employer, will also apply the measure, and mayors will have the right to introduce the requirement at local councils. Mask-wearing has also been made mandatory on public transport again from Nov. 1, and a visitor ban is also being introduced at hospitals.
