The Media Services Support and Trust Fund (MTVA) and China’s Hunan Broadcasting System have agreed on a program exchange cooperation and the possibility of future co-production of content in Budapest. The agreement was signed by Dániel Papp, CEO of MTVA, and Chiang Hua-li, President of the Chinese broadcaster.
The Hungarian public media has further expanded its international relations, thus taking another step in strengthening media relations between the two countries. MTVA, as Hungary’s largest media company with outstanding technology at the European level, has signed a strategic agreement with the broadcaster of Hunan Province satellite channel, China’s second most watched television channel, according to the statement.
The cooperation aims to promote cultural and content exchanges, as well as joint television projects.
MTVA and Hunan TV both value the opportunity to work with a renowned partner with extensive experience in television production.
The Chinese Hunan TV is an entertainment channel with programs mainly for young people. It can be considered as an independent broadcaster among TV channels in China, as it often airs reality shows and features K-pop stars.
According to the newly signed document, the two parties will cooperate in the future in the production of entertainment programs, dramas, documentaries, as well as in the field of mutual broadcasting and co-production.

In addition, the agreement could also create a long-term opportunity for Hungarian and Chinese artists, creators, and content producers to interact more directly, exchange experiences, and jointly create innovative and attractive programs.
The agreement will also serve to strengthen cultural and diplomatic relations between the two countries, contributing to a better understanding between the two nations.
The parties agreed that the media is a tool that enables cultures to meet and human relations to be built, and through cooperation they hope to develop deeper and broader ties between Hungary and China, the summary said.
