Speaking at the Uránia National Film Theatre in Budapest, Sebastian Kurz said,

the more open the European Union is, the more people will leave and the more people will drown in the Mediterranean. All in all, this pro-migration policy is causing more and more deaths”.

The Hungarian premiere of the latest documentary on the former Austrian chancellor’s career was held in front of a full house, where Sebastian Kurz took part in a panel discussion with Zoltán Szalai, director general of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium, Bence Bauer, director of the Hungarian-German Institute for European Cooperation, which organized the event, and Andor Nagy, who has worked as ambassador in Vienna.

According to the former Austrian chancellor, everything has changed in European politics. When he voiced similar views to the Hungarian government on migration, he was portrayed as a Nazi and heartless by left-wing parties. But it is important that words are followed by deeds, said Sebastian Kurz, who also said that it is a challenge when poorly educated men who do not speak the local language appear in a country. In many places in Western Europe it has been made amply clear in recent weeks that anti-Semitism has been imported into the continent through the open borders policy.

The former chancellor, whose IT business is linked to Tel Aviv, Israel, and who is a frequent visitor to the Gulf countries, has a strong view on what happened on 7 October:

he believes that terrorism can never be justified and that Hamas has acted exactly as the Islamic State did before.
