More than twenty brands will be showcased at this year’s Budapest Central European Fashion Week, which will be held at the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hungarian Art and Business (HAB) building between January 22 and 28.

Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) has become one of the most important fashion events in the region over the past years, and is the premier platform for professionals, buyers, designers, and the national and international media to meet in the region. The event brings the meeting of tradition and modernity to the general public.

More than twenty brands will be presented at the event. In addition to Hungarians, the public will also be able to see the work of designers from the region. The central event, enhanced by the presence of regional brands, is an opportunity to boost exports from the creative industries and a springboard for brands to international markets.

The catwalk shows and collective presentations will be hosted in the Museum of Fine Arts. Last season, for the first time in the program’s life, BCEFW introduced the public to the Fashion Hub concept: following the professional practice of international fashion weeks, themed, free events presenting the world of fashion in an informal way.

The Fashion Hub will take place in the Hungarian Art and Business building on Andrássy Avenue, aiming to inspire and appeal to generation Z. The event will include professional lectures, workshops, and roundtable discussions focusing on sustainability and technological innovations, as stated by the Hungarian Design and Fashion Agency (MDDÜ).

“The main objective of the agency’s strategy is to strengthen the position of the Hungarian fashion and design industry on the regional scene, and the events organized in this spirit will also increase the country’s touristic attractiveness. The choice of BCEFW’s locations is also very advantageous in terms of the country’s image, as the visitors, the international professional audience, and media representatives will visit the Museum of Fine Arts, City Park, Heroes’ Square, and the HAB building, one of the most important tourist centers of the capital,” Zsófia Jakab, CEO of MDDÜ, is quoted in the press communique.
