On Thursday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó visited Prague, where he held talks with leaders of the Czech ANO party, including former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. After the meeting, he stressed that ANO would never attack Hungary for defending its sovereignty, as the current Czech government is doing.
The Foreign Minister said that they agreed on the importance of defending sovereignty and complained that there had been a lot of external interference in elections in Central Europe. “These external interferences have often been against patriotic, national interest, conservative parties and governments. The international liberal mainstream, the Soros empire, has interfered in the political process in many Central European countries, including the Czech Republic and Hungary,” he explained.
He also pointed out that Hungary had adopted a law to protect its sovereignty and prevent attempts at external interference, for which the European Commission had launched infringement proceedings, and that the current Czech government had sided with the Brussels body against the Hungarian government.
Former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, the leader of the main opposition party, assured me today that it would be unthinkable for an ANO government to side with the European Commission, which is attacking Hungary for defending its sovereignty,”
he said.
“@AndrejBabis is a true friend of Hungary—we fight together for a European Union that respects national sovereignty,” wrote FM Szijjártó in a Facebook post.

“This is good news that here in the Czech Republic our friends and allies are getting stronger, and ANO and its leader Andrej Babiš are gaining more and more support in society, thus everyone is looking forward to the parliamentary elections in September with great excitement,” he added.
Mr Szijjártó also touched on the fact that both parties are working in the European Parliament as members of the Patriots for Europe group, to help the continent regain its competitiveness and put an end to the era of hypocritical policies.
We are working together to ensure that our sovereignty is respected by all. We work together to stop illegal migration and to change the pro-migration policies of Brussels. And we are working to ensure that European competitiveness cannot be further eroded by hypocritical and fundamentally re-ideologized energy policy decisions.”
He described illegal immigration as one of the most serious threats facing Europe, and explained that Viktor Orbán and Andrej Babiš had previously worked together to prevent the introduction of mandatory migration quotas in the EU. “Unfortunately, this fight against migration is still relevant today, as Brussels wants to impose migrants and pro-migration policies on Europe. And we are resisting this, we are saying no to migration and we are protecting our own countries from illegal migration and illegal migrants. On this issue too, we are fighting together as patriots,” the Minister stressed.
