Hungary Today 2023.06.16.

The Petőfi Literary Fund has announced their free shipping promotion for The Continental Literary Magazine until the end of June. Subscribers can now save $40 on their order.

This quarterly print publication presents contemporary Central European literature in English, and is aimed primarily at the Anglo-Saxon audience. In the US and UK, you can buy it at Barnes & Noble’s and WHSmith, respectively. The magazine may also be ordered directly via their webshop.

For Hungarian speakers, their other periodical entitled Magyar Kultúra, may also be interesting. You can find clippings from their latest issues on their website.

The aim of the Petőfi Literary Fund is to promote classical and contemporary Hungarian authors’ works abroad and to contribute to the foreign-language publishing of Hungarian literature.

Its main activities also include providing grants, managing authors abroad, presenting foreign authors in Hungary through PesText and the Writers in Residence program, bringing world literature to Hungary, and shaping the cultural image of the country.
