The German defense technical corporation is a key player in the development of the Hungarian armed forces. The Düsseldorf-based group is not only a supplier of modern combat equipment (Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle) to the Hungarian Defense Forces, but is also actively involved in the revitalization of the Hungarian defense industry through its investments. Rheinmetall operates a combat vehicle production unit in the Westrern town of Zalaegerszeg and will start ammunition production in the town of Várpalota.

“During two days we had excellent and valuable discussions about our current and possible future joint projects. Both on strategic defense procurement and on the development of the Hungarian defense industry. We consider our strategic partnership with Rheinmetall, a key player in the development of our country’s defense industry, to be very successful. We have been working together for several years with mutual respect and have achieved significant results. We are confident that we will be able to develop our relationship even further in the future, and we have well-developed forward-looking plans,” said Dávid Klacsmann.

“As part of our strategic partnership, I would like to thank you for the invitation and for the regular discussions on the future of our facilities in Zalaegerszeg, Várpalota, Budapest and Szeged. Therefore, we thank the Deputy State Secretary for inviting us to discuss with our delegation the future of a wide range of our partnership, from automotive and munitions to electronics”, said Paul Walf from Rheinmetall’s side.
