Coronavirus: 197 Fatalities, More than 8,000 New Infections Reported over the Weekend

Altogether 197 patients died of a Covid-related illness over the past 72 hours, while 8,370  new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.

The number of active infections has decreased to 154,752, while hospitals are treating 3,615 Covid-19 patients, 132 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 43,949 deaths have been recorded, while 1,787,544 have been registered with the virus. Fully 1,588,843 people have made a recovery.

So far 6,394,379 people have received a first jab, while 6,168,926 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 3,809,703 Hungarians have received a booster jab.

There are 11,624 people in official quarantine, while 10,784,987 tests have been officially carried out.
