The countries of South America will be the guests of honor at the 32nd Budapest Wine Festival, which will feature wines from numerous Hungarian and international producers, as well as gastronomic specialties, wine water, master classes, and other programs on the terraces of the Buda Castle between September 7 and 10.
From South America, visitors will be able to taste the products of 12 wineries from four countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay – at the stands of the guests of honor.
The Wine Festival will also showcase the gastronomy of the region,
with dishes such as choritos (blue mussels) prepared in several ways, ceviche (fresh raw fish meat ceviche spiced with chili and served in citrus leaves), pescado frito (fried seafood), but also Chilean white sausage, chimichurri, and Argentine beef sandwiches.
The Gourmet Courtyard will also feature Hungarian dishes, as well as as fresh oysters, French cheeses, Spanish and Italian hams, pizzas, premium burgers, locally baked Caesar crumbs, chocolates, and bonbons.
The Fishing Kids’ Terrace is home to the Chef Market Gourmet Courtyard, featuring five flagship restaurants, Yama Budapest, Felix Kitchen & Bar, Michelin-starred 42 Restaurant, Pavillon de Paris and Bombay, as well as the Mitiszol? Wine & Champagne Bar.
A new Sunday Brunch, also on the Fishing Kids Terrace, will be presented in collaboration with the five restaurants.
For the first time in the history of the Wine Festival, VIP tents will also open its doors to the public, offering special experiences to ticket holders.
In addition to the wines, visitors to the SPAR Wine Plaza can enjoy panel discussions with winemakers, while the VinAgora Discoveries stand in the central location of the Lion’s Courtyard will showcase “rare wine treasures.”
The Wine Festival will also set up an interactive tent where visitors can test their knowledge of wine and wine culture in a playful environment, while in the vicinity of the tent they can take part in master classes.
The Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta will be present with its own food truck and, as usual, will be the beneficiary of the Charity Wine Auction organized by the Budapest Wine Festival. The detailed program of the event is available at www.aborfesztival.hu.
