The program of this year’s Sziget Festival, held on Budapest’s Hajógyári Island between August 10-15, will include concerts by Justin Bieber, DJ Calvin Harris, Tame Impala, Sam Fender, and Anne-Marie, the organizers said on Tuesday.
The organizers added that the program, originally planned with about 40 performers, has now been extended to include another 30 artists. As we have also reported before, the first announced performers included such names as Arctic Monkeys, Dua Lipa, Kings of Leon, Bastille, Stromae, and Lewis Capaldi.
Tame Impala, Sam Fender, and Anne-Marie will bring new albums to the event, while the list of performers will also include Holly Humberstone, Meute, Steve Aoki, Nina Kraviz, the Milky Chance, Bad Gyal, the Channel Tres, Kensington, Ofenbach, Mezerg, Noga Erez, and Seth Troxler.
A Justin Bieber concert was already announced for 2023 in Budapest but now it seems that Hungarian fans do not have to wait another year to see him perform live in the capital as he will be part of the 2022 Sziget Festival as well.
The festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic but the organizers said earlier that they “are enthusiastically preparing for Sziget 2022 with a program worthy of the ‘big return‘ after the long break.”
