Fireworks over the Danube and light painting on the Parliament building on 27 August has mesmerized thousands of spectators who have gathered along the banks of the river to watch.
The spectacle was postponed for a week by the operational team responsible for the safe organization of the 20 August national holiday following a thunderstorm warning from the National Meteorological Service (OMSZ) that have eventually proved to be inaccurate.
Zoltán Kovács, international spokesperson of the government had said on his Facebook page that the fireworks display on 27 August was watched by hundreds of thousands of people along more than 4 kilometers of the Danube. The festive fireworks display took place in the best possible order, without any incident. The spokesman then thanked all involved in the preparation and successful organization of the event.
