On Wednesday, Wizz Air announced that it will launch occasional services for Hungarian football team fans to next year’s European Championship matches in Germany.
These occasional services will also allow fans to fly back home after the football matches. The airline will operate flights from Budapest, as well as from Debrecen on June 15 and 19. Football fans who want to support the Hungarian national team at the venue can already buy their fixed-price tickets via the Wizz Air website and the airline’s mobile app.
The Hungarian national football team has qualified for next year’s European Championship in Germany as undefeated group winners. The UEFA EURO 2024 draw was held on December 2 in Germany, where it was announced who the Hungarian national team will face. Hungary will start Group A against Switzerland in Cologne on June 15, then be up against Germany in Stuttgart on June 19, and Scotland on June 23.
“We are delighted to be able to support Hungarian fans to get to the 2024 European Championship matches to see their favorites live and cheer on the national team in person. The flight schedules have been specially adapted to the dates of the matches, making it easier for fans to get home,” said Zsuzsa Trubek, Communications Manager of Wizz Air.
