Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh are now also included in Wizz Air’s route options. The Hungarian low-cost airline launched three flights a week to the popular tourist destinations from the end of October.
Wizz Air has launched its first direct flight from Budapest to Cairo, reports Világgazdaság. The capital is not the only new Egyptian destination available from Hungary, as the airline is now also operating flights to Sharm El-Sheikh.
Wizz Air started operating three flights a week to Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh from the second half of October.
The flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from Budapest. Cairo, the cultural hub of the Arab world and the Middle East, offers a wide range of attractions. It is an ideal destination for anyone wishing to admire ancient historical monuments such as the Sphinx. However, for those looking for a waterfront holiday, there is no better place than Sharm El-Sheikh. The city on the Red Sea coast is a great place for a Mediterranean holiday, including diving, surfing, and relaxation.
Flights to Sharm El-Sheikh started on October 22, and the Budapest to Cairo service is available from October 31. Fares for both flights start from HUF 16,067 (EUR 42).
“The increase in our flights to Egypt is a clear sign of the growth and deepening of economic and tourism relations between our countries. Our second route to Cairo demonstrates not only the real market demand, but also our commitment to offer our passengers an ever-expanding choice,” said Kam Jandu, CEO of Budapest Airport Zrt.
Zsuzsa Trubek, Communications Manager of Wizz Air, said that they are delighted that after Gurdaka, they are now adding Sharm El-Sheikh and Cairo to the list of Egyptian destinations offered by Wizz Air in Budapest. “We believe in this region, we see the strong demand for flights to Egypt, and we are confident that the two new destinations launched in October will also prove hugely popular with our passengers.”
Wizz Air has added a large number of flights on several routes from October.
In addition to Gurdaka, Egypt, and Abu Dhabi, Madeira and Tenerife, Alicante, Madrid, and Milan will be more easily accessible from the Hungarian capital, with Wizz Air offering more flights than ever before to these destinations every week.
In addition, the number of flights to Basel and Keflavík will be further increased in response to strong demand.
