Wizz Air will operate direct flights from Budapest to Brasov, Brussels, Bucharest, Yerevan, Stuttgart, and Valencia, the airline announced on Wednesday.
Flights to the new destinations will start in June and
there will also be more frequent flights to Alicante, Athens, Basel, Glasgow, Madrid, Malta, Milan, Naples, Nice, Rome, Thessaloniki, Tirana, and Paris.
Wizz Air will also operate special flights to the European Football Championship matches in Germany from Budapest and Debrecen, the low-cost airline revealed.
According to the airline’s press release, the new flights will increase their passenger capacity in Hungary to 6.67 million, exceeding last year’s capacity by 15 percent. Two new aircraft will be added to the Budapest base, bringing the capital’s fleet to 16. In addition, one aircraft will be operated in Debrecen. The airline currently operates a fleet of 201 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, with an average fleet age of 4.2 years.
