Wizz Air launched its first direct flight from Debrecen (eastern Hungary) to Rome, Italy on December 13, reports Turizmus.com.
Rome is one of the most visited cities in Europe, as the ruins of ancient Rome take visitors back in time. The capital of Italy is a destination not only for its history but also for its culture, art, gastronomy, and architecture.
Debrecen International Airport is expecting an increasing number of passengers and its priority is to strengthen its role in the Central and Eastern European region,”
stressed Tamás Király, Managing Director of Debrecen International Airport. By making new destinations available, they also aim to increase the economic and tourism strength of the region.
Király expressed his pleasure that after the launch of the flight to Hurghada, Egypt, they are now welcoming passengers on their first flight to Rome. They are confident that the flight will be a win-win situation in the long term, as it will be an attractive destination not only for people living in Debrecen, but also for those from the region and beyond.
Next summer, Wizz Air will fly to seventy destinations from Hungary.
