War in Ukraine: Orbán Inspects Hungary-Ukraine Border Station

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán went to inspect the Hungary-Ukraine border station at Barabás on Friday morning, his press chief said.

The prime minister, state secretary Miklós Soltész and government spokeswoman Alexandra Szentkirályi were briefed by border police about the security situation, the number of refugees crossing to Hungary from Ukraine and the circumstances of their reception, Bertalan Havasi told MTI.

Orbán also visited the aid points of the Catholic Caritas and the Ecumenical Charity in Barabás and was briefed about the services offered to refugees.

Orbán moved to stay in the border region for three days on Wednesday to monitor the situation and organise preparations for a new wave of refugees.
