The Hungarian Prime Minister’s ally in Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, has to face a second round in the presidential elections. Viktor Orbán praised his achievements in a video message.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent a video message to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, ahead of the first round of the presidential elections last weekend.
“I have served my country here in Europe for more than thirty years, and I have met many leaders, but very few as outstanding as your President, President Bolsonaro,” he said.
“It has been a great privilege to watch and learn how he has reduced taxes, how he has stabilized the economy, how he has reduced the crime rate, and how he has prepared a brighter future for Brazil,” Orbán remarked.
According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Bolsonaro “has the courage to put Brazil before everything and God above us all,” even in the face of today’s “progressive, liberal world domination.”

Orbán and Bolsonaro have had good relations since the election of the Brazilian President in 2018. The Hungarian Prime Minister attended Bolsonaro’s inauguration, and Bolsonaro visited Budapest in February this year.
According to the latest preliminary results, Bolsonaro received 43.2 percent of the votes in the elections, while his left-wing challenger, former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, received 48.4. The second round will take place on October 30.
