Prime Minister Viktor Orbán traveled to Doha on Sunday morning for an official visit initiated by the Prime Minister of Qatar.
Upon an invitation by the Emir of Qatar, the Hungarian head of government is expected to deliver a speech at the host country’s Economic Forum.
The Hungarian delegation includes Finance Minister Mihály Varga and Economic Development Minister Márton Nagy.
The agenda of the negotiations in Qatar includes stronger bilateral cooperation in the areas of energy, economy, and finance, the identification of new investment opportunities, and current issues in global politics, Viktor Orbán’s press chief, Bertalan Havasi, said in a statement.
The delegation aims to improve Hungary’s energy supply and promote the peaceful, diplomatic conclusion of the war in Ukraine instead of forcing a harmful policy of sanctions and war, Havasi added.
