Manfred Weber, President of the European People’s Party (EPP), “cannot threaten the national government of Hungary or give orders to its Prime Minister,” Viktor Orbán emphasized in a post published on his social media page on Thursday.
The Prime Minister’s response comes after Manfred Weber stated in a recent interview for a German newspaper that he is tired of Viktor Orbán and urged the “coalition of the willing” to work together.
I am particularly fed up with Viktor Orbán dancing on the heads of European citizens. Europe’s ability to act depends on whether we succeed in abolishing the principle of unanimity.”
According to Viktor Orbán, he is not at all surprised by the Brussels politician’s statement that he has had enough of unanimous decisions.
“Mr. Weber is used to giving orders to his puppet, the Tisza party, which belongs to the European People’s Party, and its President. He blackmails them with the institution of immunity, shielding them from their criminal offenses under public law,” Viktor Orbán writes in the post, adding,
although Mr. Weber is known to be anti-Hungarian, he cannot allow himself to ignore the opinion of more than two million Hungarians on the issue of Ukraine.”
