Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks in Belgrade on Saturday with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. The main topic of the meeting was the intensification of defense industry cooperation between the two countries.
The parties reviewed the possibilities of military cooperation between Hungary and Serbia and concluded that in the coming years, the way would be opened to take cooperation in the defense industry and the development of the armed forces to a new level.
Viktor Orbán and Aleksandar Vucic discussed the European security situation, the latest developments in the war in Ukraine, and the prospects for the European integration of the Western Balkans.
Following the meeting, they jointly visited the Batajnica airbase, where they viewed the public military capabilities demonstration “Granite 2023” held on the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day.
Despite the number of declarations on bilateral cooperation, there is not much information available regarding its content.
