The VéNégy Festival and Theater Meeting in Nagymaros (north of Budapest in the Danube bend) will offer more than 40 musical programs on four stages this year from July 2 to 5.

A special highlight of the musical palette of the Danube-side festival is the concert of the Austrian duo Cari Cari: they will take the stage on July 3. The indie rock duo consisting of Stephanie Widmer and Alexander Koeck were named as the greatest discovery of Primavera Sound Barcelona by Rolling Stone magazine. Their music forms a harmonious unity between a dreamlike, melancholic atmosphere and a raging, raw power.

Erika Rein will also perform. The Slovak singer naturally combines new wave pop and R&B genres in her music.

The Budapest-based Haldamas and the Krakow-based Hulajdusza bands have released a joint album that reinforces the centuries-old friendship between the Polish and Hungarian nations.

They will perform together at the festival on July 4th, with their album called Áldomás, reimagining Hungarian and Polish folk songs in classical, contemporary, and jazz styles. On the closing day, Yasno, the Polish indie pop duo, known for their catchy melodies and swinging rhythms, will take the stage. Nill Garcon, the Czech DJ-producer, will also invite festival-goers to dance.

The Hungarian scene will also be filled with well-known artists diverse in genres ranging from rap (Dzsúdló, Bëlga, Desh, Sisi, Lil Frakk, Co Lee) to pop and alternative-rock (Elefánt, Blahalouisiana, Bohemian Betyars, Esti Kornél, Hakumba, Quimby, 4S Street, Fiúk) and electronic music (Analóg Balaton, Hundred Sins).

Lenkke_, a new discovery of the Hungarian alternative electronic music scene, will perform at the festival’s waterfront.

Palo Canto, a techno traveler, will also arrive on the Danube-side stage, as will biankahaidu, Janet Gruber, Nanana, Swim Swim Naked, and WXLFLESS, among the emerging bands of the Hangfoglaló Program.

VéNégy Festival also includes electronic music productions and ambient live performances. On day zero, the event will open with a campfire party for guests who have purchased a season ticket.
