US President Thinks Like Us on Many Issues, Says Foreign Minister

Hungary Today 2025.01.22.

US President Donald Trump’s first executive orders make it clear that the pro-war and pro-migration madness is over, and that the era of peace, security, national sovereignty and common sense has arrived, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a video on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

“We, here in Hungary, have had to engage in enormous battles in recent years in order not to be pushed into war, not to be forced to let migrants into the country, not to be forced into gender madness and not to expose our children to it,” he recalled.

“We have fought many battles over the years to achieve this, and how good it is that we now have a president of the United States who thinks like us on these issues, who wants peace, who wants security, who respects national sovereignty, and who thinks, like us, that you are born either a man or a woman,”

the Minister added.

Péter Szijjártó stressed that in the coming period Hungary will strengthen its political aspirations to “live in peace here in Europe, to respect national sovereignty for all, and to ensure that the family is the basis of society.” He pointed out that “we will also stand by our strategy of economic neutrality, which in recent years has enabled Hungary to set investment records year after year and to provide jobs for everyone who wants to work in Hungary.”

After taking the oath of office on January 20, Donald Trump signed several executive orders in the space of a few hours, reports Index.

On his first day, the President immediately broke a record: he signed 42 executive orders, the highest number of executive orders ever issued by any president in US history on the day of his inauguration.

Among the decisions taken was the withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO), writes AP News. The reason behind the withdrawal is how the WHO acted during the Covid pandemic, something that was already a problem during Trump’s first presidency. According to the US President, the WHO was unable to demonstrate its political independence and that it was unfairly overpaid compared with other member states. The move is not surprising, as Trump had already started the withdrawal process in 2020, during his first administration, also citing the pandemic, but it was later interrupted by Joe Biden.

Trump is also withdrawing the US from the Paris Climate Agreement. According to the President, this move alone will bring thousands of billions of dollars in benefits to the US, which is looking to increase oil and gas production in the future.

The new president also decided that only two genders can be shown on passports, declared a state of emergency on the southern border and pardoned almost 1,500 people who took part in the Capitol riots in 2021.
