Trump’s Re-election Could Mean the Restoration of Hungarian-American Relations

MTI-Hungary Today 2024.02.08.

Donald Trump’s win in the U.S. presidential election would also mean the restoration of Hungarian-American relations, because the Biden administration is not interested in maintaining friendly ties between the two countries, Péter Törcsi stated at the first podium event of the America Votes series.

Mr. Törcsi said that during Trump’s presidency, the U.S. ambassador to Hungary acted as a true ally and was worthy of his office. It would be in the interest of both countries to resume relations based on mutual respect. The series of podium events will not only help make American democracy more understandable, but also provide regular analysis of the pre-election process and the presidential candidates’ programs.

Márton Ugrósdy, Deputy State Secretary in the Office of the Political Director of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet, commented that

the ruling Democratic Party is in trouble when it tries to reinforce the narrative that everything is all right in the United States by using a pop star as a mouthpiece.

Senior researcher Bryan Leib confirmed this, stating that President Biden’s problem is that “incoherent sentences regularly leave his mouth” when he engages in free speech, and he often discusses the statements of politicians who are no longer alive. Mr. Leib thinks it is possible that by allowing Biden to speak freely, the Democrats will expose him to this embarrassment and thus achieve his recall, as they did with Bernie Sanders to help Hillary Clinton get the nomination. In this case, it was not the voters but the superdelegates appointed by the Democratic Party leadership who arbitrarily removed Sanders from consideration.

According to the researcher,

President Biden’s withdrawal could come in September or later, although he has admitted that he currently faces no opponent within the party.

Magor Ernyei, International Director of the Center for Fundamental Rights, has pointed out that the Biden administration is using the legal system for political purposes. He alleges that this is being done to ensure that President Trump, who represents at least half of the United States, is excluded from the presidential election and sent to prison, in defiance of the will of the voters. As an example, he mentioned the Democrat-led states of Maine and South Carolina, where it was not the voters gathered at the nominating convention but Democrat judges who deliberately removed Trump’s name from the list of candidates.

Most of the experts agreed that on the Republican side, Trump could now become the presidential nominee without a serious opponent, after former UN ambassador Nikki Haley had already “crossed the line” with her sharp criticism of the former president. Additionally, they stated that her “covert gestures” to the Democrats had also depleted her credibility within the Republican Party.
