Next Monday, a free stadium tour will be offered to take photos with the Europa League trophy at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, the Hungarian Football Association’s website announced.
The trophy will arrive in Hungary ahead of the final of the series in Budapest on 31 May and fans will be able to take photos with it at the finals venue. The tours will last 40 minutes and there will be 17 of them throughout the day, starting at 10 am and ending at 18.40.
Although the news of the trophy tour was only announced yesterday, the Hungarian Football Association said on the same day that the tours were full within a few hours and that there was no longer any chance to sign up.
There are now only four teams in the Europa League, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, AS Roma, Sevilla FC and Juventus. Roma will face Leverkusen and Sevilla will meet Juventus, with the winners of the matches going head-to-head in the final in Budapest at the end of May.
This is not the first time that the Puskás Aréna has hosted European football matches, with Hungarian team Ferencváros hosting Leverkusen, who are now favorites in the series, in the last sixteen of the Europa League. In 2020, the renovated stadium also hosted the UEFA Super Cup final with Bayern Munich and Sevilla, and in 2021, it was the venue for several European Championship matches.
