FlixBus continues to expand its network in Hungary. In April, 15 percent more destinations will be available compared to spring 2024. Four completely new routes and one seasonal route will become available, including services from Budapest and from rural cities, Turizmus.com reports.
Hungary has already been an important hub in the FlixBus European network, with direct services from 7 cities to 20 countries on 45 lines. Among the 228 destinations currently available are popular cities such as Vienna, Bratislava and Brno, but also Graz, Maribor and the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
The Hungarian network is expanding year on year: from April 2024, the number of routes available will increase by 26% to 53, including 36 new destinations.
This will create the possibility of international public transport for people traveling to or from Kecskemét (central Hungary), for example. For the summer season, this number will be further increased, adding nearly 40 more cities to the list of available destinations, the company announced in a statement.
On April 10, three new services were launched to Kecskemét: six times a week to Serbia and three times a week to France, making a total of 23 cities directly accessible, thus reopening international green bus services to the county seat after 2019.
The seasonal service between Sopron (northwestern Hungary) and Warsaw will be available again from April 28, this time four days a week, with an extended route to Kazimierz Dolny on the Vistula coast every day from July to August.

Szczecin and West Pomerania have so far not had direct connections to the major cities of Central Europe, but now it is possible to travel from Budapest to the Baltic Sea coast. This will give Szczecin its first direct connection not only from Hungary, but also from the major cities of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and in the summer season – from June 2 to September 7 – it will be possible to travel all the way to Koszalin, with an extended route.

Our company is committed to strengthening its presence in Hungary, and as a result, 254 cities will be accessible from the end of April this year with FlixBus services from Hungary.
Our strategic goal is to include as many Hungarian cities as possible in the international network, so that not only Budapest but also many regions of the country have access to environmentally friendly and affordable bus travel to various destinations in Europe,” said Michal Leman, Head of FlixBus Eastern Europe.
