Top Hungarian Industrial Real Estate Showcased at MIPIM in Cannes

MTI-Hungary Today 2024.02.21.

Hungary will showcase the most significant industrial and logistics real estate developments relevant to foreign working capital inflows at the world’s leading real estate development exhibition, MIPIM, in Cannes between March 12-15.

The Hungary stand, designed to promote Hungarian investments and present development trends, has been jointly set up by the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) and the Real Estate Developers’ Round Table Association (IFK). The leading developers in the industrial real estate market, HelloParks (member of the Futureal Group), Infogroup (developer of the IGPark network), and WING Industrial, as well as ATENOR, a leading office and residential developer, will be present at the show with their flagship developments. The towns of Békéscsaba (southeastern Hungary), Debrecen (eastern Hungary) and Kaposvár (southwestern Hungary) will also be represented.

HIPA and IFK stressed that

the showcase of government developments and private investments aims to lay the foundations for further expansion of foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows and contribute to strengthening Hungary’s ability to attract capital in the global competition for investment.

“From an international perspective, Hungary has become a meeting point between the West and the East, with major German car manufacturers and Asian battery suppliers. This is confirmed by the fact that five of the world’s ten largest battery companies are already present in Hungary,” the joint statement quoted István Joó, HIPA’s CEO.

Ernő Takács, president of IFK, the largest association of Hungarian real estate developers, said that “Hungary has reached an all-time record of investment, and the inflow of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) is stimulating the activities of professional real estate developers and attracting international attention from investors.” Looking at 2023, IFK’s president said that the industrial real estate market was one of the top performing areas, with annual demand volumes reaching 867,000 square meters last year, two percent ahead of 2022, the previous record year.

MIPIM is the world’s largest real estate development exhibition, with 2,400 exhibitors from more than 80 countries and more than 20,000 professional visitors.
