Three Days of Soul, Jazz, and Funk: Paloznak Jazz Picnic Is Back

MTI-Hungary Today 2025.07.30.

The 13th edition of the Paloznak Jazz Picnic begins this Thursday, drawing music lovers to the picturesque village on the northern shore of Lake Balaton for a three-day celebration of jazz, funk, soul, and pop.

This year’s festival will feature internationally acclaimed artists including French chanteuse Zaz, Grammy-winning Judith Hill, Danish pop sensation Lukas Graham, and Italian soul legend Mario Biondi.

Venues will vary across four stages, showcasing a vibrant mix of live bands and DJ sets. Headliners also include Earth, Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay, the dynamic Lehmanns Brothers, and electro-swing favorites Deladap.

The main stage shows will be complemented by an eclectic array of DJ performances, including Palo Canto featuring Soma Nóvé, Andrew J & Dan von Schulz, Get Funky, and Groove Generation alongside Hungarian favorites such as Lóci Akusztik, Stinky Bugs, Vibe Changers x Wolf Kati, Vavra Bence, and Áron András & the Black Circle Orchestra.

Hungary’s jazz scene will be well represented, with sets from the Muck Éva Band, Lukács Márton Trio, Horváth Gábor Trio, Budapest Bossanova Quartet, Rafael Mário Trio, Proli Jazz Quartet, and others.

Additional performances will feature Saya Noé’s solo live act, a duo by Krisztián Csapó and Tivadar Varga, and a collaborative set from Soma Nóvé and Sándor Csoóri Jr. Also appearing are Sárközi Dina and biankahaidu.

A major new addition this year is the MBH Bank Fashion Courtyard, where both Hungarian designers and international labels will present sustainable festival fashion. Hosted by singer and TV presenter Bogi Puskás-Dallos, the runway will feature top models alongside dancers from the Győr Ballet Company and the Hungarian State Opera. The space will also host wine tastings in collaboration with the Circle of Balaton Association.

In partnership with the Zöldövezet Társulás (Greenzone Association), the festival continues to prioritize environmental responsibility. Efforts to minimize its ecological footprint include a reusable cup system, return points for recycling, bike parking, selective waste collection, and educational programs.

The festival also continues its charitable mission by supporting the “Together for Autism Foundation” through the Auttalent 2025 development program. Additional initiatives include a charity campaign in cooperation with the Paloznak for the Future Foundation, benefiting the Surgical Department of the Tűzoltó Street Pediatric Clinic at Semmelweis University.
