The Hungarian Defense Forces will offer a three-day program cavalcade for the celebrations of 20 August at five locations in the capital.
Visitors can join the series of events on the Buda and Pest quays, in the City Park, on the Kós Károly promenade and on Kapisztrán Square in the Buda Castle.
From Friday, visitors to City Park will be able to learn about the daily life of the modern army, the life of soldiers, the latest military equipment and combat vehicles of the Hungarian Defense Forces. They will also be able to see how different units work, try out the aircraft simulator and laser shooting.
On the Kós Károly promenade you can see the Lynx combat vehicle, the Gidran, the Polaris, the PZH-2000 and the Leopard, and during the day the non-commissioned officers and the soldiers of the Hungarian Defense Forces’ sports corps will give spectacular demonstrations. On Friday at 18:00, Valmar will give a concert in the Sunbathing Area in the City Park.
On Saturday, there will be a performance by a special group of decorated soldiers, a close combat demonstration and a performance by the military band in the City Park.
On Sunday, 20 August, the Hungarian Defense Forces will also give various demonstrations on Kapisztrán Square.
The military air parade, which has been a huge success in recent years, will provide unforgettable entertainment for those celebrating in the capital on Sunday morning. After the ceremonial flag-raising and ceremony in Kossuth Square, visitors will be able to see military aircraft and helicopter lines flying over the Danube between the Chain Bridge and Margaret Bridge, as well as individual displays.
