The Plázs of Budapest Opens Today

The only free bathing spot on the Danube in Budapest, the Plázs on the Roman Beach of the Danube river is now open for beach lovers, for the third time since its start.


According to obudainyar.hu, the website operated by Budapest 3rd District’s municipality, they are offering a natural environment, with a clean, well-kept beach,

free drinking water, free use of toilets, changing facilities and showers,  colorful sun beds, bicycle storage facilities, permanent control of the water quality, as well as regular reports on UV radiation and water temperature.

Lifeguard service, a safe beach convenient for bathing with buoys, and a night watch is also provided.

To get there, simply type “Római-parti plázs” into the GPS, or walk a few minutes from bus line no. 34.

Dogs are allowed around the area, on the Roman Beach, according to a 2020 article of welovebudapest.com.
