"That was the cleanest strike I saw for a long time," said Liverpool FC's manager about Szoboszlai's goal.Continue reading
The Hungarian national football team is approaching the half-time mark in the European Championship qualifiers. Marco Rossi’s team has not conceded a goal in its three matches so far. The fourth encounter will take place on Thursday evening in Serbia.
If the team does not lose, they will most likely qualify for the European Championship.
Head coach Marco Rossi did not prepare the Hungarian national football team for a draw. At a press conference on Wednesday, the Italian agreed with his Serbian counterpart, Dragan Stojković, that it was an important game at half-time but not crucial for qualification with four games left to play.
According to Marco Rossi, the Serbian team is the favorite in the group, but
it makes no difference whether the Hungarian team finishes first or second, because either way they would achieve their goal of qualifying for the European Championship.
“Just like the Serbs, we also have excellent players, even if we have a little less than them. Dominik Szoboszlai is the star in our team. He has made a fantastic start in the Premier League, he seems to be in top form, so we expect him to give what he gives at Liverpool. Nothing more, nothing less,” the Italian coach said of the captain.
Marco Rossi’s team could gain a lot with a win in Belgrade, and with a little exaggeration, has nothing to lose with a defeat.
The head coach of the Serbian national football team, Dragan Stojković, said that the European Championship qualifier against Hungary on Thursday will be a real showdown. “We respect the Hungarian team, we see the progress that has been made in recent years,” the 58-year-old coach pointed out at a press conference on Wednesday.
Since Rossi has been there, he has introduced an effective system of play, but the most striking thing is that he has given his team confidence. That is one of the most important qualities that has been missing in Hungarian football for a long time.
The players believe that they can surprise. Moreover, the national team has key players like Dominik Szoboszlai, Milos Kerkez, and Attila Szalai, and the team spirit is also excellent.”
Hungary, who lead the group standings with seven points, will play second-placed Serbia, who have a worse goal difference, on Thursday at 8:45 pm in Belgrade.
The expected starting line-up of the Hungarian national football team: Dénes Dibusz, Ádám Lang, Willi Orbán, Attila Szalai, Attila Fiola, Ádám Nagy, Callum Styles, Milos Kerkez, Roland Sallai, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Barnabás Varga.
