Poland’s prime minister has issued a warning about the anomalies that have emerged since the introduction of the euro in Croatia, VG.hu reports.
On Twitter, Mateusz Morawiecki criticized Polish opposition politicians who are calling for the introduction of the euro instead of the national currency, the zloty.

As reported by Hungary Today, Croatia joined the eurozone on 1 January, which has brought price rises as traders typically round up prices. The Croatian government has already reacted to this. According to VG.hu, traders who are profiting from the introduction of the euro have been given a deadline of Friday.
Of the Visegrad Four – Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia – only one country, Slovakia, has so far introduced the euro, and they have had a similar experience to the Croats, with price rises. Although the Hungarian government has previously considered adopting the euro, and this is a recurrent political theme – for example, the left-wing opposition has been pushing for it – the government has no plans to make the switch for the time being.
According to a Eurobarometer survey published last June, 60 percent of people in member states that will soon adopt the euro want to switch to the single currency as soon as possible. Romania (77 percent) and Hungary (69 percent) were the strongest supporters, while Bulgaria, the Czech Republic (both 44 percent), and Sweden (45 percent) were the least in favor. However, 56 percent of respondents thought that the introduction of the euro would lead to price increases.
