More than 300 people arrived in Budapest on Monday on Hungarian Air Force planes as part of a joint rescue operation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Ministry of Defense.

A few minutes after 1 p.m. on October 9, a Hungarian Defense Forces Airbus A319 landed at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport with 110 people on board, evacuated from Tel Aviv, honvedelem.hu reports. This was the third rescue flight from Israel by the Hungarian Defense Forces.

The evacuation flight also included the elderly, young people, and children, who with the help of the Hungarian government, arrived home safely on Monday afternoon.

On Saturday, thousands of rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, and in response, the Israeli Air Force launched a massive strike on Palestinian-controlled Gaza. As Hungary Today reported yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Ministry of Defense launched a joint rescue operation on October 8 and 9, with Hungarian Defense Forces aircraft evacuating a total of 325 people from Israel.
