Hungary Today 2022.01.25.

Kele was the first stork to return to his nest in the municipality of Vörs, south of Lake Balaton, early on January 24th. He has been a resident there since 2020, and before him, his father Charlie lived there for years.

For many years, Charlie, Kele’s father, was the first stork in the village; in fact, since 2011 he was the first to return home for 14 years. Since 2020, Kele has taken his place. According to the municipality, the locals were surprised by the early return of the stork, as he usually appears at the beginning of February. Both the stork and a grocery store were named after the writer, István Fekete’s book of the same title because he used to attend masses regularly in the church located right next to the nest.
