Levente Magyar, Secretary of State of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered aid to several cities in Ukraine.
Hungary has been helping and supporting Ukraine to the best of its ability since the first day of the war, said Levente Magyar, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Berehovo (Beregszász, Ukraine), underscoring that Hungary will provide assistance wherever its Ukrainian partners ask for it.
Neither Transcarpathia – where a Hungarian minority lives – nor Ukraine as a whole will be left without help. Hungary will do everything in its power and economic strength to reduce the suffering of the Ukrainian people,” said Magyar in Chop (Csap), where he handed over two truckloads of aid – generators and durable food – to help the people of Kherson, recently recaptured by Ukrainian troops.
There is no electricity, water, or central heating in and around the southern Ukrainian city, and the call for help came from Yulia Hryshyna, MP of the government party who recently visited the area, and Transcarpathia Governor Viktor Mykyta. In view of the situation, the Hungarian government decided to immediately transfer 250,000 euros and has started the procurement and delivery of equipment to Kherson with the assistance of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, the state secretary said.
