Sixty Domestic Companies Represented at the Cologne Food Exhibition

Sixty Hungarian companies will be represented in Cologne, Germany at ANUGA, one of the world’s largest food industry exhibitions, running until October 11, 2023, the Agricultural Marketing Center announced.

27 Hungarian exhibitors will present themselves at the 250 square meter stand of the Agricultural Marketing Center, while 33 Hungarian companies will be present independently.

The companies exhibiting at the Agricultural Marketing Center’s joint stands in four pavilions are organized under the themes of beverages, meat, general food, organic food.

They will present premium products, including duck and goose, game meat, honey, various beverages, and in the organic section, sea buckthorn preparations, seed oils, and spicy peppers.

At the stand of the Agricultural Marketing Center there is a special counter where visitors can learn about the company’s export development strategy, the Hungarian Food Business Program. Potential buyers can immediately register in the program’s online catalogue, effectively connecting Hungarian companies wishing to export with potential buyers.

As part of the business development activities of the Agricultural Marketing Center, the Hungarian Food Business Program promotes the entry of Hungarian food companies into foreign markets and the promotion of Hungarian products on the international stage.

The Agricultural Marketing Center noted that after the first two days, it is clear that the exhibition sector is over the COVID crisis, with exhibitors in Cologne in record numbers and visitor numbers expected to exceed all-time highs.

The ANUGA (Allgemeine Nahrungs- und Genussmittel-Ausstellung, “General Food and Drink Trade Fair“) is described as the world’s largest and most important food and beverage fair. ANUGA takes place every second year in Cologne, and is sub-divided into ten separate fairs, each covering a different category. The first ANUGA  took place in 1919, in Stuttgart as part of a national gathering organized by Germany’s specialist food retailers, and was a relatively small scale affair, involving approximately 200 exhibitors, and without any participation from foreign businesses. The first Cologne ANUGA was held between August 17-24, 1924, attracting 340 exhibitors and around 40,000 visitors. The clear theme and the range of products on display gives a comprehensive overview of the global market, showcasing the full spectrum of the world’s food producers and the latest products.
