Shares of Two Hungarian Companies Listed in the Regional Index of Vienna Stock Exchange

Hungary Today 2024.09.19.

The Vienna Stock Exchange has decided to include Hungarian AutoWallis shares in the CECE index of Central and Eastern European shares, the company announced on Wednesday morning on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange. The shares of the automotive group of the Budapest Stock Exchange are expected to be included in the CECE index of Central and Eastern European shares calculated by the Vienna Stock Exchange with a weighting of 0.09 percent from September 23, 2024.

The move supports one of the strategic capital market objectives of the region’s leading automotive and mobility services provider, which is to broaden its international institutional investor base, listed in the Premium category of the Budapest Stock Exchange, points out Világgazdaság.

This is not the only Hungarian-related change to the composition of the CECE index, also including logistics company Waberer‘s shares, with a 0.07 percent weighting,

according to Erste Bank’s calculations. The domestic loser of the changes is Masterplast, the largest Hungarian-owned building materials manufacturer in the Central European region, excluded from the regional index. Magyar Telekom will see its weighting fall minimally.

AutoWallis gained 0.7 percent on the announcement, Masterplast fell 1 percent, and no deals were done in Waberer’s shares in the first hour of trading on Wednesday.

Fact

The CECE-Index is the composite Eastern European index comprising the stocks included in the Hungarian Traded Index (HTX), Czech Traded Index (CTX) and Polish Traded Index (PTX).
