MTI-Hungary Today 2022.12.28.

The French multinational company Schneider Electric is expected to start production in 2024 at its smart factory in Dunavecse (central-southern Hungary), with an investment worth 40 million euros, the company told MTI on Tuesday.

The smart factory will cover an area of 25,000 square meters and will meet all current technological, sustainability, and digital requirements: it will manufacture medium-voltage products for electrical distribution equipment in a carbon-neutral operation using the most advanced industrial technology.

They added that it is planned to provide 500 highly skilled jobs for people living in the area after 2025.

They also said that Schneider Electric aims to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations by 2025 and net zero carbon emissions by 2030, and is building its smart factory in Dunavecse in this spirit.

Schneider Electric has been present in Hungary since 1991, employing around 2,000 people.
