Roland Sallai Scores Two Goals against Frankfurt

Hungary Today 2024.01.08.

Roland Sallai scored two goals in the 5-2 win against Eintracht Frankfurt in Freiburg, reports Index.

The Hungarian international striker is looking forward to 2024, with five goals and two assists in 18 games this season, while his team (eighth-placed Freiburg) played a pre-season game at the home of sixth-placed Frankfurt.

The hosts started the game at an advantage, taking the lead midway through the first half through Robin Koch, but within two minutes, Roland Sallai responded with a beautiful kick and fired into the bottom right corner.

The visitors turned the game around before the break, and at the beginning of the second half the Hungarian striker came on again and scored a great goal: after a backpass from Vincenzo Grifo, he scored a left-footed shot into the top right corner of the goal.

This gave Freiburg a 3-1 lead, with both Michael Gregoritsch and Grifo scoring in the next quarter of an hour, and the hosts could only manage to make it 2-5.

Freiburg will play their first match of the season next Saturday when they host András Schäfer’s club Union Berlin in the 17th round of the Bundesliga.
