Hungarian Forward Sallai Voted Best Player of Round in Bundesliga

Freiburg won its league match against Bochum 3-0 on Saturday to consolidate its fifth place in the table, and remain in contention for the Champions League as the biggest challenger to fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen with four rounds to go. The Hungarian offensive player, Roland Sallai, scored twice against Bochum. The German magazine Kicker gave him the highest rating and he was named the best player of the round.

The renowned German sports magazine Kicker gave him the highest rating: an A. Sallai was named best player of the round and was particularly praised for his fighting spirit and enthusiasm.

“Roland thought it would continue to go up just as steeply,” said the coach of Freiburg. Sallai already showed signs of improving his form in the 2-1 win over Frankfurt a week and a half ago. Christian Streich also sees physical progress, saying: “That’s why he can win balls, which he shoots in himself afterward.”
