Robot Dog to Serve as Playful Responsibility-Ambassador in Budapest

Hungary Today 2025.05.25.

On May 25, Újpest is preparing a special show for their event “Children’s Day of Old Times.” The Budapest district’s newest “helper,” a robot dog, will debut on Szent István Square, not only to entertain children but also to teach them.

The municipality of Újpest has unveiled the new robot dog in a video, saying that the weekend’s event will include the naming ceremony and the first encounter with the interactive technological device, which will soon be a regular guest at kindergarten classes and events in Újpest, in collaboration with the Animal Rescue League (Állatmentő Liga).

The robot dog not only entertains, but also teaches: it will be a playful “ambassador” of responsible animal husbandry.

This means he will help children and adults alike to understand the basics of responsible pet ownership and the importance of animal welfare in a playful way.

Its aim is to bring children closer to empathy for animals, the importance of caring for them, and to teach them the basics of animal protection from an early age.

However, the technology offers more than that: in the longer term it can help the Animal Rescue League’s work, for instance in hard-to-reach rescue sites or during special missions.

The robot dog is not only a visual tool, but also a functional one, educating, sensitizing, and where needed, providing an operational tool for animal protection in the future.

The event promises exciting and educational activities for all ages, and the meeting of technology and love for animals could lead to a new way of thinking this weekend.
